 Discounting Thomas' word-salad, wasn't the majority argument basically that religious private schools are just as eligible as non-religious private schools? Not that this changes anything since tax money shouldn't go to either one; I just see the problem as bigger than religion alone. I went to a private Lutheran school up until I went to high school. Our choir teacher who has kids and whose wife was another teacher there, came out or got outed as gay and divorced his wife and was forced to leave. Idk if he had to leave because he got a divorce or Top Skull Harley Davidson Motorcycles Five Finger Death Punch T-Shirt was gay (maybe both) but as I got older I realized just how up it was. It’s just insane to me that places exist that will fire you for being gay or getting a divorce. Constitutionally, this is a very clear cut case. If you provide funding to non-religious private schools and not religious private schools, that’s discrimination based on religion, which is unconstitutional. So either a) don’t allow the state to sponsor kids from public schools going to private schools, or b) allow the state to sponsor kids to go to any private school. Also, from my understanding, the money isn’t just going to the school, it’s a scholarship to allow students to go who wouldn’t normally have been able to.
