I feel like all the colors there are brighter and more saturated than normal. I mean all of them. The grass is greener, the water is bluer, it's almost unsettling at first. Then I come back to Georgia and I'm almost disappointed. At least until I get back under the live Oaks. As a Brit, you guys are really friendly. We're cynical about happy service but pretty much everywhere I've been in the US has had amazing service. And a smile on the street doesn't mean you're crazy. You fast food is also sooo much better. No idea why. I've eaten in high end restaurants in a couple of locations - don't mean to suggest that the US doesn't do posh food. I just think your cheap food tastes better. The American dream is alive. My wife and I talked to a shop owner in San Francisco who was a Republican. While we disagreed with his politics, it was wonderful to talk to someone.
